چکیده

The characteristics of spreading sequences significantly affect the performance of the forward link DSCDMA system in fading channel. The bit error rate (BER) is a function of the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) which has different characteristics depending upon the spreading sequence. In this paper, the SIR is analyzed when orthogonal codes and pseudo random codes are used as the spreading sequence. The BERs are obtained by Monte Carlo analysis when the convolutional code is used or not. The use of orthogonal codes can cancel out the interference signals having the same path delay, but the use of random codes can’t, resulting in significant performance degradation. As a result, the BER performance of the orthogonal spreading system is much better than that of the random spreading system. Even in the case of many multipaths, the number of users achieving a fixed BER value in the orthogonal spreading system is twice larger than that in random spreading system. The analytical results are verified by computer simulation.

Nonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems

Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...

A More Accurate Analysis of Interference for Rake Combining on DS-CDMA Forward Link in Mobile Radio

In this paper, we improve the performance analysis of the Rake receiver for the DS-CDMA forward link using long random spreading sequences (RSS’s) [15] by more accurately evaluating the correlation between the various interference terms. We also extend the analysis to the case of short (periodic) RSS. The accuracy of the expressions obtained in our analysis is verified by computer simulation. W...

Performance Analysis of ZF Pre-Coder and Extended Joint Channel Estimation Method in Downlink CDMA with HPA

In the down link scenario of code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, multi user detectors (MUDs) such as linear de-correlating detector (LDDs) provide satisfactory symbol error rates (SERs) at the expense of much increased complexity, they require all active users’ spreading sequences, which is impractical from privacy point of view. To overcome this impracticality, a simple matched filte...

Throughput Improvement of STS-Based MC DS-CDMA System with Variable Spreading Factor

The throughput enhancement of Space-Time Spreading (STS)-based Multicarrier Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (MC DS-CDMA) system is investigated in this paper. Variable Spreading Factor (VSF) is utilized to improve the data throughput of the system. In this contribution, an analytical approach is proposed to compute a new expression for the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of t...

Chip-interleaved DS-CDMA with 2-dimensional OVSF spreading code

Multiuser interference (MUI) limits the transmission performance of the DS-CDMA uplink. In this paper, we propose a 2-dimensional (2-D) OVSF spreading and chip-interleaving to transform the multi-user channel into orthogonal single-user channels. Due to MUI cancellation, the chip-interleaved DS-CDMA with 2-D OVSF spreading has ability to increase the link capacity as well as to provide multi-ra...
